concept development
prerequisite: spatial programming
This is how we build ideas about what the space should look and feel like. It conveys a mood, a personality, a purpose. This is a required deliverable, because working without a concept, in our experience, is reckless.
The concept is the spine that supports the rest of the work and ensures that we end up at a determined end.

Yes! But not entirely.
What we mean is that yes, you can. But we find that most often, we are provided with very helpful information that still needs to be worked through or edited in order to provide the clarity we need to move forward.
If this is something you’re interested in providing yourself, we really encourage you to send us your work. Once we receive your submission, we will ask that you select either a consultation or the concept development as a deliverable. Even though you will still need to book a deliverable, you will likely have provided enough direction to minimize additional revisions. So you will still have created value and saved on time/money.
Note: Some people have a really clear idea of their style and concept for their space, and are also able to communicate that. We just think it’s really important to see that, and accept it when its offered. After all, we’re creatives… and we love supporting the involvement of other creatives who want to have a say about their space. That’s why we’re here… for you… because maybe you just need a little help with your hmwk, but you got this.

In order to start the concept development, we will need the to delineate the functions of each space. We simply cannot develop the concept of a living room (for instance) if we don’t know its adjacencies and where that is located in the home.

This deliverable is usually an enssamble of images that convey what the space should look like and feel like, this document will then help us determine what kind of materials, colors, and textures we should choose moving forward.
